Institutional assessment
CDS institutional assessments provide a factual description and an objective evaluation of a company’s prevailing situation at the levels of strategy, organization, operations, management, and human resources. They also help determine the company’s competitive position, its capabilities, core strengths, weaknesses, and the threats / challenges it is facing.
Institutional assessments are often a prerequisite to identify the changes needed to achieve a company’s goals and to mobilize the company’s human resources for implementing the required changes.
Industry structure and market attractiveness
The understanding of an industry's structure and the attractiveness of a given market is of significant value to organizations revisiting their strategy or to those contemplating an expansion into a new market or to a new industry. With its experience in data mining and market intelligence gathering, CDS assists clients in forming a clear picture of the desired market / industry and its level of attractiveness, and formulates optimal strategies to tackle the companies’ vision.
Vision Engineering
CDS’ Vision Engineering expertise does not limit itself to delivering a Vision & Mission statement for the company. Rather, it’s an exercise during which companies introspectively evaluate their ambitions, capabilities, markets, and competitors, and where CDS plays an active role of value adding facilitation and challenger.
We work with board members and senior executives to understand and build consensus about why the organization exists, its purpose or “raison d’être”, and what it wants to achieve. An integral part of the vision engineering exercise is to identify the set of values based on which the organization will reach its objectives; by doing so we ensure that all stakeholders understand and share a common cause.
Corporate and business strategy
Building on its ability to assess internal capabilities, identify external challenges and threats, and engineer visions, CDS helps its clients define and deploy the most appropriate strategy to reach their goals, at the corporate level and at the level of each business unit.
Corporate strategy is primarily concerned with the optimization of the portfolio of businesses (products, services, country operations); business strategy is more concerned with the tactics that allow a business unit to be differentiated and realize its full potential. Strategy deployment
CDS assists its clients in the implementation of corporate and business strategies, both externally (M&As, alliances, investments, divestitures) and internally (primarily through institutional alignment / change management). |
